EventingSaddlebredStyle's Olympic Winners Contest!

Although the opening ceremonies for the 2016 Olympic Games won't be until Friday, since women's soccer starts today (my favorite after the equestrian events), it seemed like the perfect time to share EventingSaddlebredStyle's Olympic Winners Contest!

It was also a great time to share because the post I originally had scheduled for today needs more tweaking. And after one of my favorite bloggers posted that she is taking a hiatus from her blog due to some nasty internet trolls, I have an angry rant planned about people who feel the need to make judgemental comments when they should just scroll on by -- I will miss your posts SprinklerBandit and I hope you will be back soon!

Hopefully the Olympic coverage of the equestrian events will be better than last year -- Facebook's On This Day feature keeps pulling up my angry posts from 2012 about not being able to watch anything. On the plus side, we do have high speed internet now, which wasn't an option then, so hopefully I can live stream some stuff even if it's not on TV.

Also, an Olympic-themed post is the perfect excuse to bust out my pictures from the 2012 Selection Trials!

    1. Yeah a former friend of mine was there (she groomed for Tina Konyot that year) so my best friend and I flew out to see her (and also watch all the beautiful horses 😍). It was a really good time! Happened to coincide with my birthday that year so it worked out well!

  2. Last olympics there was a sattellite channel that broadcast all of the olympics. I was hoping it would this year too!

    1. You do! Simple to enter, fun prizes, and you really don't even have to know that much about the teams to be able to make a decent guess!

  4. Gahh 2012 was the first selection trials I've missed in AGES! I used to work at the USET and helped manage those shows. I have fond memories of the Dressage Festival at Gladstone! Hopefully I will be able to catch some of the Olympic action this year :)

    1. Seeing all the famous riders was a trip. I was totally starstruck. Heather Blitz was hand walking Paragon in the arena the first morning we were there and said hello to me. I stuttered like an idiot and barely managed a hello back....haha. It was SUCH a fun experience, I'd love to go back!
