In Like a Lion

I guess I could start this post with excuses for my absence, but that gets old pretty quick and I think I used up my quota of those last fall. Sometimes I just get busy and blogging is pretty much always the first thing to go, haha.
Much more fun to offend my dog's dignity with a hot dog costume.
So to recap: we've had some crazy weather, including two separate nights of high winds, rain, and tornado warnings (not unusual for the Midwest, but a little bizarre this early in the year). March definitely came in like a lion, so hopefully it will go out like a lamb!
We call this an "oh shit line"
I've been fairly consumed for a solid week+ with getting our spring show for my GMO organized -- I finally got the show bill posted yesterday and most of the necessary paperwork done, so now I'm finally feeling like I can take a breather again. Thankfully a manager was located so hopefully from here on things will be smooth(er) sailing.
Don't worry -- there has been plenty of #stressshopping
That also means I need to make some decisions ASAP about other upcoming shows -- there's both a super laid back schooling show the weekend after next that would be a good option for Cinna, and then a bigger schooling show the weekend after that would be great for both girls if I can get my shit together.
Can't wait to write about this fun new halter!
And Kaity made us this awesome one!
Still no drone footage of me with Ruby *sobs* I know this means my #mediahopro status is in jeopardy, but it's just not in the cards on a weekday and my weekends keep spiraling out of control. And I heard a nasty rumor about snow this weekend, so I'm categorically refusing to check the weather forecast. Gross.
Homemade chips are my new obsession.
Hopefully with the incentive of an upcoming show to prep for, I can get back in a groove!
Sassy dog has lots to say about my lack of time management lately!
Still in awe of you guys who can balance busy schedules while still writing regular, interesting, and meaningful updates!

    1. We've had dachshunds for more than seven years and I've ALWAYS wanted one like this but been too cheap to buy one. Got a free one this weekend and spent a hilarious evening annoying my dogs with it 😂

  2. I totally get the too busy to blog issue, especially hard to get out regular posts WITH new media. I would love to read a post about what goes into organizing your GMO spring show once things settle down for you a bit!

    1. I almost think I'd prefer the snow! We didn't get much this winter, feels weird to be in spring without a few good snowstorms under out belt. I'm worried the mild winter is leading up to a HOT summer 😶

  4. Your media ho status is safe! I will return it to you once my mare has her foal. :P but seriously, I want to see some drone footage. I thought about getting one for myself but all the target tracking drones are expensive and would probably get me killed. Haha

    1. I can't remember how long you've been following, but I did take some last month with cinna! (https://youtu.be/chWkl41a8As in case you missed it).

I desperately want some of Ruby cantering through the hayfield though. #lifegoals 😁

    2. I did see that footage during my sprint through over a backlog of blog posts to read. It's good footage but you totally need to make mooooooore.
And yes, start training Ruby for liberty training so you can get that. :D

    3. Hahaha yes always MOAR media!

I kind of meant me riding her at a canter though the hayfield while my husband films with the drone, but at liberty would be fun too! Lol

  9. I honestly don't know how people do it either. I have a heard enough time keeping my life together without writing about it, especially the detail that people go into with their riding / horse progress

  11. OMG! I have that Noble infinity scarf! It makes an appearance in my work wardrobe about once a week.

I got that, some other little goodies, and the Wine Down hoof pick as a "thank you" for being in a focus group for Noble. I gave the hoof pick to Kristin as a Christmas present :-D
