PNW Bloggers

Anybody in the Seattle area? Will be visiting next month and would love to squeeze in horse time, a blogger meet-up or tack shop visit :) hit me up if you're in the area or have recommendations on must-visit locations! Comment here, FB message me, or email dressagebarbie (at) gmail.com

  1. Not a blogger, but I live in the PNW, you need to go to Olson's Tack Shop in Bellevue, & The Gift Horse Saddlery in Woodinville. :)

    1. Those were on my list (thanks Google!). Any other recommendations for non-horsey things to do? Hubs will be unamused if we don't fit at least *some* touristy things. I have the Space Needle on my list, but I haven't visited the area in so long I'm probably out of the loop on anything else awesome ☺️

    2. Space Needle is definitely awesome, but I vaguely recall they were doing work on it, so check to see if its open. :/ (I couldn't find anything on that, so likely it is open!)

The Ferris Wheel in Downtown is also very cool at night, Pike Place Market during the day. :)

DEFINITELY take a ferry ride! Kingston is a fun little town to poke around, or if you have a day to do some major sight seeing, drive up to Deception Pass & head down the peninsula... the views are worth it! (unless the day is totally rainy & icky, it's still beautiful, but not as much fun..)

    3. OH, one more, Woodland Park Zoo is lit for Christmas & open at night! :) My husband & I are actually going tonight, so if it's fun (& I remember!) I will try to update!

    1. Looks like they offer a combined ticket rate to see that and the Space Needle (which was on the list, since DH has never been), and it looks gorgeous!! Thanks for the recommendation!

  4. Hey there, I'm a little late to the game, but will definitely second what Horseyhabit suggested. Deception Pass and Whidbey Island are beautiful!
And, if time allows, there are some great tack stores in Canada (and an exchange rate in our favor!)
Have fun and bring waterproof coats.
