Kid Spam (the good kind!)

I know things have been a bit quiet here, as I haven't actually spent much time with the horses lately outside of chores -- practicing some self-care and making sure I take care of myself so I can take care of everyone else that depends on me.
Sometimes self-care involves buying $5 clearance copper pineapple cups to drink out of.
However, yesterday Roja had her babies, so I figured this was a good excuse for some cute kid spam!
The only kind of kid spam I enjoy.
By the time I got home from work, they were already up, dry, and nursing -- thank God! The trauma from Blanca's rough go of it was still fresh in my mind and my heart was in my throat until I made sure everyone was okay. Roja had two big, healthy, beautiful boys.
This one has a big white spot on the back of his head.
They'll be sold after weaning, so the goal is to not get attached. I did offer my nephew the chance to name them, and his picks were "my dad" and "my friend" 😂
Today is a state holiday, so no work -- yay! The weather is gorgeous, so hopefully I get plenty of horse time in today! And probably some more baby goat snuggles, let's be real, haha.

  3. Probably the only kind of kids I'm completely obsessed with! Such cuties, I'm so glad all is well with these munchkins. Good for you for taking care of yourself first, hopefully you get a relaxing day off from the grind!

    1. Right though? Goat kids are definitely the best lol.

And yes, taking care of myself is something I'm not always great at, but I'm trying to get better.

  5. Yay babies! So glad everything went well. You gotta take care of you first, so even better you have a random Tuesday off! :-)

    1. Yeah, we had a particularly busy weekend so a random Tuesday off was great! I haven't been very productive yet, haha.

  6. So freaking cute. Also I want a pineapple to drink out of, because that looks like it would add to my enjoyment of my life.

    1. It's probably going to be an issue, but at least these guys have balls so less tempting to keep around 😉 future Leah can deal with being sad when they sell, current Leah is too busy with baby goat snuggles and smooches, haha.
