It's Snow Fun

I have SO MANY things I want to write about, including a really fun hack out with my dressage instructor, BRAND NEW BABY GOATS, lots of dachshund shenanigans, and more..... but I can't focus on any of those things because of Winter Storm Gia.
"WHAT ARE THOSE SQUEAKY THINGS IN MY STALL?!?"
Aren't they impossibly cute? Red doeling in the back, traditional buckling in the front.

"Friends?"
"No."

We swung wildly from 70 degrees last Monday to being HAMMERED by Winter Storm Gia over the weekend - almost 48 hours of snow, racking up over 20" on the ground. But that's okay -- you know why?
PHOTO OP!
Wheeeee! Ruby was a good sport about the knee+ deep snow, haha. Did anyone else get smacked down by this storm? I hope you were able to find SOME fun in it!

Fortunately, this one went out to sea before it got to us. But I think we're going to see a decent storm next weekend. Boo.

    1. It's awesome minus the fact that it requires an act of God to get out of my driveway in the morning to get to work and that I'm spending 2x my usual gas budget commuting in my truck 🤣🤣 but on the weekend I don't mind lol

  7. Those pictures are great! We didn't actually get hit by this storm. Given how much freaking snow we get here, I actually thought it was kind of funny how slammed other parts of the country were and we were nice and dry here. But more snow is coming.

    1. Yeah it was so random. We get snow, but not usually like this. The storm just hung out over us for two straight days haha

    1. She's a good, good egg. There were several instances she absolutely could have dropped me in the snow and didn't 😂

  9. I am SO JEALOUS of your majestic snow pics!!! It's my biggest horse regret that I never took snow pics while I lived in a place where it actually snows. Crazy about your weather, hope it's calmed down since then!

    1. I hate snow but if I can get good photos out of it, I guess I'll deal 🤣 I wouldn't say it's calmed down at all - we had the polar vortex (-30 wind chills) then up to 70 like 4 days later (melting the 22+ inches of snow) so now our place is under water (with rain in the forecast every day this week 🙈). Sooooo. Typical Missouri weather!
