Ruby's Road to Recovery!

As always, failing to write interesting updates, but whatevs. Tuesday and Wednesday nights were boring and all I did was cold hose and hand walk Ruby. It was getting a little old, and Wednesday night I woke up in a cold sweat wondering if she had cellulitis (because that's how my overanalytical brain works ya know). Thankfully Thursday when I went out, her leg was MUCH improved. Like way improved. Actually looked like a leg again! I think the swelling for so long was just a byproduct of the fact that it's been a little rainy this week so the horses haven't had as much turnout as normal, so cut + less turnout = grossly swollen leg. Also maybe Ruby was tired of my being so obsessed with Cinna and wanting some attention for herself? lol
I've been slacking about taking photos for the last few days because the swollen leg depressed me, so here is a terrible cell phone shot of the ponies at home out grazing.
Because it looked so much better and she was clearly feeling good, Jacki and I decided we were long overdue for a nice long walk on the trails. Both horses enjoyed the unseasonably cool temperatures (high in the 70s today, FTW!) and we stayed on nice, easy trails and just walked on the buckle the entire time. I think it was good for everyone's physical and mental states! After we got back, I cold hosed it again (just for good measure) -- I think tonight will be another hack at the walk or a light lunge, and then hopefully back to work this weekend. If I stay focused, we can probably manage my GMO's schooling show in a few weeks. It won't necessarily be pretty, but we totally sucked it up at the spring show already, so I doubt anyone will be surprised? I am such a pessimist, haha.

I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend and hoping that I can get in some good with with Cinna too!

    1. High 70s today and tomorrow, low 80s on Sunday, and then back to 90 for a few days... *sigh* but I'll take the reprieve!

    1. I didn't get to take nearly enough advantage of it yesterday (home alone in the evening so couldn't ride Cinna) and it's going to get back up there next week, but fall is just around the corner!! 😀

    1. All too soon I'll be bitching about how cold it is, so I always try to squeeze as much enjoyment out of fall temps as I can 😂
