Horse Hair EVERYWHERE

While I clearly haven't had much to write about for the last few weeks, last night I did manage to accomplish things. DST is really helpful for me in the spring because I am so much more productive with daylight hours in the evening as opposed to the mornings!
Gratuitous shot of DH and my favorite (headless) #farmdog
I had DH drag the arena Tuesday, so it was perfect last night! I quickly tacked up Cinna and headed out for a quick lunge -- after liberally coating myself with grey hairs, because she decided to blow her entire winter coat the week before the horse show. Because #greyhorseproblems... lol. Considering the lack of work this calendar year, Cinna came out with her game face on. She only had one spook in the scary corner with the chairs, but she was happy to investigate them, and then continue working.
Does the scary chair have cookies?
We didn't work long (she's not terribly fit), but she gave me very lovely W/T/C both directions, including some of the nicest canter departs I've seen from her to date, and she stayed balanced and calm at the canter as opposed to taking off at Mach 10. After her brief workout, we went and loaded on the trailer a few times (no sass, hooray! Especially since I'll have to load her alone on Saturday...), and then I let her graze on baby spring grass while I took the shedding blade to her AGAIN.
Then I booked it out to the barn for a brief ride on poor neglected Ruby, who I haven't seen for a few days. Hopefully after the horse show I'll have more time to focus on taking her out on the trails -- I have some potentially interesting plans and possibilities percolating in my brain about a new direction and adventures for me and my best bay girl..... will keep you posted if the insanity sticks ;)

In the meantime -- hoping for better weather and a productive finish to my week before taking Cinna to her second show Saturday! And I also need to spend a few hours shedding out the geriatrics at my house -- spring has sprung!

    1. Shedding season always makes me regret not body clipping haha. And yes, I'm getting excited for Saturday! Hopefully riding tonight keeps me enthused and doesn't make me regret entering 😂

  5. Mine has been blowing her coat too and it's truly disgusting. Everyone else has been body clipped and here we are, shedding like a woolly mammoth. Oh the majesty
